At Wilton Dental Associates we have proven that if your fillings/restorations are done right using our channeling technique they will last almost indefinitely.

20. dental fillingsHowever that is not the experience most people have had. I do not know what experience you have had, but most people have found that Silver/mercury amalgam fillings most commonly fail because they leak or cause cracks or cause fractures when they are used to fill/restore teeth. On the other hand, White/composite/glass filled resin fillings or restorations shrink slightly when they are cured/hardened and therefore can leak and fail at the margins in as little as 2 years.

In the process of interviewing dentists from dental schools around the country I have learned that dental schools are teaching that white/composite fillings may only last 3 to 5 years before they fail, have leaky margins or have new dental decay and therefore have to be redone usually with further weakening of the teeth involved.

At Wilton Dental Associates we will guarantee that your fillings and restorations will last.

So what do we do differently?

The answer is we use a system we call “channeling” which totally eliminates the problem of shrinkage that occurs with the curing/hardening of your white/composite/glass filled resin fillings/restorations and we have been using this system for over twenty years with amazing results.

What we have found that by creating a small channel in the middle of the material at each level as the filling/restorative material is placed in your tooth and cured/hardened and then filling in this small channel afterwards, we totally eliminate the problem of shrinkage and there for allow the strong bonding to your tooth to last indefinitely. The bottom line is that we have been doing this for more than twenty years and we literally never have to replace a white/composite/glass filled resin restoration we have done.

If you really want to have a healthy, beautiful smile for a lifetime you need a team who will provide the technology and support to achieve this, who have the goal of eliminating the cause of dental disease and who GUARANTEE results.
