Dr. D’Andrea is humbled and grateful to be part of the Wilton community!
She wants to make a difference in our world, whether it be through her dental practice and team or through the connections we make through this wonderful community.
Dr. D’Andrea grew up in Newark, DE and was raised as a “Fightin’ Blue Hen.” She spent her summers picking crabs in Maryland and the rest of her waking hours as a competitive swimmer and dedicated student. She completed her initial higher education in Virginia and Maryland. Although she always loved being a dentist, she got her “inner fire burns brightly” on when returning to the profession full time after being a stay-at-home mother. She immersed herself in studying under some of the best dentists nationally and internationally. This way of practicing dentistry is both a satisfying and addictive adrenaline rush. She feels that she owes it to her patients – and to that still, small voice in her head that says it’s never good enough – to know as much as she can.
Dr. D’Andrea’s lifelong dream was to have her own dental practice in a small town and take care of people the old-fashioned way, much like her childhood dentist. That’s why she strives to be a treat-you-like-family dental practice with a holistic, airway-centric approach. Our team truly takes the time to connect with patients, and our unique approach to preventive care, including using micro cultures to teach you about the activity levels of the bacteria in your mouth, allows you to get in front of dental issues so that you spend less time and money in the dental chair over a lifetime.
Dr. D’Andrea received her DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia, then went on to complete her residency at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After that, she completed a fellowship at the University of Washington School of Dentistry to treat patients with special needs and disabilities.
Recently, she completed a yearlong aesthetics (cosmetics) program at the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry and is currently participating in a five-year master track program to achieve her Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and is involved at the local level with the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) and in several academic study clubs.
Dr. D’Andrea deeply values giving back to the community locally and globally. Not only does she run a free dental clinic in Haiti, but she has also volunteered her time on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and for Hurricane Sandy victims.
She loves practicing dentistry and considers herself blessed to do something she enjoys so much. For her, dentistry is the perfect profession because she gets to bring beauty, compassion, and well-being into the lives of others.
