Let’s face it when you meet someone one of the first things you notice is their smile.

26. smileA national business magazine published this statement: “The majority of Americans believe that an unattractive smile can prevent a person from achieving financial prosperity and that having a great smile contributes to career success.”

A great smile contributes to you making a good first impression when interacting with clients, customers and employees. People find those who have a great smile more interesting, more attractive, and more trustworthy and this improves interactions and communications.

If you have a strong, confident, healthy smile, it is a great way to overcome not only social barriers but also career and financial barriers.

If you would like we can give you a smile evaluation at no charge. Just let us know.

If you look in the mirror you may notice that your teeth look different in shape than they did when you were 10 years old. The change, whatever you may notice is NOT from age and contrary to what you might read on line or hear from many dentists it is NOT “normal”.

At Wilton Dental Associates, we believe all dental care should last indefinitely and we believe all dental disease is preventable.

Dr Strait’s Home Care Regimen - IT WORKS!

At Wilton Dental Associates we use a Home Care System Dr. Strait developed over a period of 25 years which eliminates Dental Disease, so YOU do not get Cavities/ Dental Decay or  Gum Disease!

23. dr straits home care regimenThe System/ Regimen utilizes 4 Steps and specific home care products and equipment for you.

The 4 Steps are:

  1. Brush along all your gumlines utilizing a Sonicaire professional toothbrush and an approved dentifrice (Topex fluoride gel with baking soda in the morning and Therasol gel in the evening).
  2. Floss using a Flossaid floss holder. (This has alternatives but all require a Hygienist Instructor/coach).
  3. Pressure Irrigate with plain water at a setting of 8 to 10 utilizing a Waterpik or similar device 2 or more laps around your teeth directed at right angles to your teeth, along the gumline both from the outside and inside.
  4. Pressure Irrigate with Therasol concentrate diluted 4 or 5 to 1 utilizing a Waterpik or similar device 1 lap around your teeth directed at right angles to your teeth, along the gumline both from the outside and inside.

The success of the System/Regimen depends on you performing the system correctly.  To do this a highly trained Hygienist acts as your Instructor/ Coach.  The Hygienist uses Magnification loupes and a Phase Microscope to monitor, improve or correct your technique to assure the effectiveness of your home care.

22. sleepinessObstructive Sleep Apnea is a serious sleep disorder in which your breathing is impaired or completely stops repeatedly. You can have multiple episodes of over a minute and a half without any oxygen while they’re sound asleep! Most common symptoms include loud snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness, and high blood pressure. Other symptoms associated are acid reflux, insomnia, morning headaches, diabetes, and bruxism or grinding.

Untreated Obstructive Sleep Apnea can take up to 12-15 years off your life and has a 46% increased risk of death. We think this is serious enough to be very concerned for all of our patients and our community. For comparison smoking only takes 7 – 10 years off your life and Diabetes 5 – 10 years.

There is an urgent need to increase awareness about this serious condition that currently affects over 40 million Americans; 9 out of 10 people are not aware that they have it or what it is. Dental offices like Wilton Dental Associates are a primary source of early detection with the use of screening history’s and the use of high tech Pharyngometric and Rhinometric sonar technology and work directly with Sleep MD’s and medical insurance to make sure people get accurate diagnosis and the best treatment.

Dentists like Dr. Strait are a primary source of retainer like appliances for the treatment for mild to moderate sleep apnea. Treatment for Sleep Apnea by a dentist is normally covered by medical insurance. At Wilton Dental Associates your care is also covered by Medicare.

If you or someone close to you snores or if you suspect you or a loved one may be experiencing a sleep disorder, don’t hesitate to call us and find out how we can help you sleep better and improve any related symptoms. Our office is trained, fully qualified, and equipped with the latest technology in the field of sleep medicine. We offer free screenings for potential sleep disorders as part of our general exam for new patients as well as current ones.

The majority of Americans believe that an unattractive smile can prevent a person from achieving financial prosperity and that having a great smile contributes to career success.

21. do people with great smilesOne important aspect of what is considered ‘good looks’ is your smile and the appearance of your teeth. Critical to a great smile are nice looking teeth.

Unfortunately, most people form opinions of you based on your appearance and smile.

While it is not always the case, it is usually true that people with great smiles make more money in their careers than people with a poor smile.

A great smile contributes to a good first impression when interacting with clients, customers and employees.

People find others with a great smile more interesting, more attractive, and more trustworthy and this improves interactions and communications.

If you have a strong, confident, healthy smile, it is a great way to overcome not only social barriers but also career and financial barriers.

If you want to achieve career success and prosperity, the appearance of your teeth and smile plays a significant role. Importantly, taking care of your smile and teeth is mandatory if you want more success in your life.

The best thing is that, unlike other factors people use when evaluating other people, a great smile and nice looking teeth are affordable and achievable. We offer a free cosmetic evaluation at Wilton Dental Associates. Give us a call today.
